Admire the scenic wealth of heritage to be found on the Loire banks along this trail: stunning countryside with sweeping views over the river, nature outings organised in the footsteps of animal tracks and local religious heritage at the church and 8th century crypt in Saint-Martin de Léré.
A leisurely cycle ride for sightseeing in the Loire Valley, between Beaulieu and Léré. Hop off your bike at the Maison de la Loire in Belleville to take part in one of their activities or guided tours along the Loire or Canal latéral, before carrying on to Les Grèves pond where you'll have a sweeping view over the river and the banks of the old port at Neuvy-sur-Loire. Look out for symbols of the merchant navy engraved on the façades of houses there, which hark back to its long river past. This floodplain is home to outstanding wildlife which you'll be able to find out more about on one of the many outings organised at the array of other nature spots here. For a spot of culture, check out such local gems as Saint-Martin de Léré collegiate church.
