Situated on the borders of Sologne and Berry in a green setting, Argent-sur-Sauldre has 2100 inhabitants and stands as an open gate on northern Cher. Just beside a castle which shelters a noticeable old jobs museum, and can see the house where well known Father Moreux used to live. He was a famous astronomer and popularized science knowledge. A 360 acres large artificial lake called « l’étang du Puits » was dug at the end of the 19th century to feed the Sauldre canal. Its natural surroundings shelter a bird sanctuary and are an appeal for hiking and for water games (paddling, small boats steering…)
