Le pays de Raboliot
Lovely village and typical of the Sologne country, run through by the Sauldre canal, Brinon-sur-Sauldre is the only village in Cher to have a church with a porch roof dating of the XVIth century. This is the very place where Maurice Genevoix set his famous novel « Raboliot ». It is about an inveterate poacher who can’t help going out poaching at night. A sign-posted walk will let you follow on his footsteps. Raboliot is surely the most representative novel Maurice Genevoix has dedicated to his native land : Sologne.
In the « House of the Forest », you will see a display of the ancient local jobs, especially woodwork.
